Desktop Features
After reading this page you will be able to: use system tray shortcuts, configure auto-start and background residence, and manage startup animations and the desktop pet.
1. System Tray Menu
Section titled “1. System Tray Menu”When running as a desktop app, AIPC UP resides in the system notification area (system tray). Right-clicking the tray icon brings up the global menu:

| Hide to Tray | Minimizes the main window to the background tray |
| Check for Updates | Checks for newer releases and initiates update wizards |
| Quit | Terminates all main background processes and services completely |
2. Window Behaviors and Auto-Start
Section titled “2. Window Behaviors and Auto-Start”Entry: Settings → System
- Launch at Startup: Configure the app to start automatically upon Windows boot (macOS version coming soon); scheduled tasks depend on the app being running and on required system and network conditions.
- Close to Tray: When enabled, clicking the window close button (×) hides the window to the tray rather than terminating tasks.
- Hardware Acceleration: GPU rendering acceleration is enabled by default. If legacy hardware causes crashes, the app falls back to safe software rendering automatically.
3. Startup Animation 🆕
Section titled “3. Startup Animation 🆕”- Toggle the Startup Animation setting in “Settings → System” at any time.
- Cold boots display a ~3-second brand startup screen while the main process finishes database integrity checks, bridge ports validation, and background service mounting.
4. Multi-Language and Notification Management
Section titled “4. Multi-Language and Notification Management”- Multi-Language Support: Switch seamlessly between 13 languages (Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, etc.) with instant UI re-localization.
- Notification Controls: Toggle system-level desktop notifications for general alerts and scheduled task completion independently.
5. Desktop Pet
Section titled “5. Desktop Pet”Entry: Settings → Desktop Pet (Desktop app only)
AIPC UP includes an interactive desktop pet component:
- Enable and Resize: Summon the pet on your screen with Small, Medium, or Large size presets.
- Interaction and Dragging: Drag the pet anywhere across screens (with a “Reset Position” option), or click to “Pat” and interact.
- Do Not Disturb (DND): Keeps the pet in an idle state, ignoring AI events and animation triggers.
- Pet Authorization Bubbles: Displays tool authorization requests directly above the pet for fast one-click approvals.
How to Verify Success
Section titled “How to Verify Success”- Closing the window minimizes to the tray, and all tray context menu actions function as expected.
- With “Startup Animation” active, restarting the software presents the brand intro before transitioning to the workspace.
- With “Desktop Pet” enabled, the pet floats on the desktop with responsive dragging and approval bubble prompts.
